Marietta Meck

When you see Marietta on the production floor you will find her hard at work inside a unit . She is always very quiet and calm and very conscientious about her work. She just goes about her job in a very professional manner.

Marietta has an impeccable work ethic and the quality of her work is always of the highest standard . This work ethic does not go unnoticed by her co-workers. She is always willing to go out of her way to help others on the production floor learn and to insure that the FCX standard for quality is maintained throughout all of our product lines.

Finally, Marietta, although very quiet and shy, is always willing to offer suggestions to help FCX become a much better place for everyone to work. FCX is fortunate to have Marietta as part of our team. Please join me in congratulating Marietta Meck as our FCX Employee of the month for December, 2016.

Michael Knoble

Michael KnobleOnce a month we have been presenting an employee of the month award. Ideally there would be one shining star and the selection would be easy. However we are a team made up of many members. All of you are important, perhaps I should say critical to the survival of this company. Look around at the various groups.
Can we say one group is more important?

If not for sales we would have no orders
If not for Engineering we would have no products
If not for Purchasing we would have no parts
If not for Production we would have no units
If not for Testing the units wouldn’t work properly
If not for QC there may be no repeat customers
If not for Service orders would plummet
If not for Human Resources we would be missing employees
If not for Accounting there would be no cash in or paychecks out

The list goes on and on .

There is a saying “It takes a village to raise a child” for a company it seems more like a small city to keep things running.

Perhaps what we have been doing is not so much recognizing someone who was a star this month but rather someone we feel needs recognized for the work they have been doing all along.

This month we want to recognize a person who is behind the spotlight. A person whom everyone depends on, whether getting the order, getting a paycheck or getting a phone call.

This person is Michael Knoble.
Mike designed the computer system that is as important to FCX as electricity. Every group in FCX is dependent on computers, software, printers and our phone system. Yes our phone system is an integral part of the computer system Mike has designed. The ability for many of us to work from home just as if we were at our desk is part of the Remote Desktop system. Emails flow through our own email server, while an elaborate firewall and spam filter keep us safe. These systems require frequent patching and updating to keep the whole system fully operational and secure. Speaking of secure, Mike maintains a backup of the millions of files on the system; Drawings, BOMs, Purchase Orders, Sales orders, Job orders, Quotations Letters, emails, and so on.

Thank you Michael for keeping us running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Jane Baker

jane_bakerIf you ever need assistance on how to do something, this individual is the person that everyone counts on to resolve the problem and get the job done. This individual is the go-to person for all facets of FCX. This individual knows the system inside and out – from creating bills of materials, to ordering parts, to receiving parts, to entering time sheets, to tracking inventory, to creating part numbers, to shipping parts, to creating sales orders, to issuing parts, to creating RMA’s, to building units, to building boards, and so on…  You name it, this person has done it!

Although this individual’s knowledge and understanding of all areas of FCX is a great asset to the Company, her role at FCX goes beyond her knowledge.  This individual is compassionate to all those around her and she will do whatever she can to help others.  This individual may come across as a drill sergeant with a heart of gold.

Now, if you have not figured out who the employee for the month of October is—here is a small hint.  “James Webb, please call extension 2125.” Yes, the employee for the month of October is our one and only JANE BAKER!

Congratulations and thanks for all that you do!

There are some folk here who are more of a pillar of FCX than just employees. Of course this is what this award is all about.

People with focus, integrity, drive for solutions, regardless of the current hat being worn, are folk we depend on to be banner bearers for FCX.

Although there are many who are deserving of Employee of the Month, there are very few I would praise so highly.

This is someone who tends to work alone or in a small group, often away from the factory but always in touch with the customers and looking beyond the job at other items that may need attention.

When returning, notes and observations are always shared to help improve our products.

This person also is blessed with a voice that many Radio announcers would give an arm for.

Yes, this Employee of the month is Charlie Showalter.

FCX Systems was acknowledged with a “Gold” Composite Rating from Boeing in its most recent Supplier Performance Report.

The “Gold” Composite Rating is Boeing’s highest distinction and can only be achieved by earning “Gold” status in both “Quality” and “Delivery” performance metrics.

To earn this distinction, FCX Systems performed at 100% quality and on-time delivery from June 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016.

On August 2, 2016, FCX Systems hosted a luncheon for Jeff Key, recognizing his 25th anniversary with the company. Jeff received a certificate, anniversary gift and a reserved parking space with sign.

Jeff started his employment with FCX on July 22, 1991 and has continued to contribute to FCX’s success.

We extend our best wishes to Jeff and thank him for his loyalty, diligence and dedication to FCX Systems!

What makes someone a candidate for FCX’s Employee of the Month? If you look at the past recipients, you find: individuals that excel at dealing with our customers and serve as great ambassadors; individuals that take that extra level of pride and workmanship in their work every day; individuals that have consistently performed their job at a high level over the long haul; and individuals that have embraced their duties and responsibilities quickly and have improved the function of their position.

This month’s individual has many of the qualities as those before but specifically stands out for his willingness to do whatever it takes. When asked to step outside of his normal role with the company, he always steps up to the plate with a smile on his face and enthusiastically takes care of what has been asked of him without delay. Whether it is getting our product literally ready and out the loading dock door, or helping to move furniture and boxes, or cleaning up after our too frequent leaks from our roof, or hanging pictures with more than a few supervisors looking over his shoulder, he is always happy to help. When our PCAir Division was discontinued, he jumped into a new position and has excelled.

In recognition of his day-to-day responsibilities as well as his willingness to help however, we are happy to announce Dewight Jackson as the August FCX Employee of the Month.

Several specifications and brochures concerning 400 HZ Ground Power Units (GPU) mention protection for No Break Power Transfer (NBPT). Few explain why it is included or what this requirement actually means.

Originally when power was switched from internal aircraft sources to an external source, the internal source connection was broken, before the external connection was made. This was a “break before make” transfer. It meant that there was a time without power during the transfer. This is shown in Figures 1, 2 & 3.

In Figures 4, 5 & 6 the internal and external sources are tied together before the aircraft internal side breaks. This is a “make before break” transfer. Power to the aircraft electrical loads is never interrupted. This is referred to as a No Break Power Transfer (NBPT).

Brian Maxwell

Brian Maxwell The recipient of the FCX Employee of the Month is a 10 year employee who consistently goes the extra step to ensure our customers receive the highest satisfaction possible from their purchase of our equipment.

The attention to detail and accuracy provide confidence that the job was done correctly.

When things are slow, this employee looks for ways to improve our processes so that we can be more efficient when things speed up again.

The detailed understanding of our products and components puts this person high up on the list of those in demand when problems arise and require expert technical attention.

This knowledge and experience, coupled with the desire to travel and help customers anywhere in the world for almost any length of time produce an employee who deserves special attention.

If all these attributes were not enough, this is also one of the most friendly and likable employees anyone could wish for.

It is my pleasure to present Brian Maxwell with the Employee of the Month award for July 2016.
