In early 2018, FCX Systems was awarded the contract to supply–and manufactured–54 270VDC precision ground power units for the Royal Australian Air Force’s main F-35 base at RAAF Williamtown for the New Air Combat Capability project.
This was the second contract awarded to FCX in supplying the RAAF with 270VDC ground power units for F-35 aircraft.
The 54 units included 270VDC output cables and cable reels, along with design and engineering support assistance for the successful implementation of the system. FCX factory trained technicians provide on-site support for the commissioning and field-testing of the units.
“It is a great honor to be supplying our equipment to one of America’s greatest allies–Australia,” said Jason Summers, Vice President of Business Development. “It is of the utmost importance to the entire FCX family that the U.S. and its allies have the best possible equipment available for all daily operations.”
FCX provides international 270VDC ground power support in the United Kingdom, Italy and Japan.
“The specifications of the contract fit well with FCX Systems’ capabilities,” said Craig Walker, President and Chief Executive Officer for FCX Systems, Inc. “Our extensive experience in 270VDC applications, including the supply of 270VDC ground power to all F-35 final assembly stations for Lockheed Martin, was integral in meeting the requirements of the contract.”
FCX was later awarded an additional 21-unit project supplying the RAAF.
